by Nettles on Friday, January 21st, 2011

Put a bunch of the octopus pendants up in the Etsy store. Check them out if you need a weird Valentine’s Day prezzie!

New Stuff for the New Year!

by Nettles on Friday, January 7th, 2011

Akcire and I spent a few nights this week working on some brand-new stuff for the store. Here’s some sneak-peeks of the new merchandise before I put it in the store on Monday!

It’s 2011!

Howdy howdy folks. It’s a brand new year, with brand new crafty ridiculousness! Enjoy these ornaments!

Christmas is coming!

by Nettles on Thursday, December 16th, 2010

You may know that we’ve added several new items to our Etsy store, but did you also know that some of our tiny mushroom ornaments are for sale in Regretsy’s Holiday Regrets Store? They been flying off the shelves, so if you want some, you better get them soon.

As for my resolution this year to make one thing a day… Well, it hasn’t worked quite as I was expecting it to, but come New Years, I am going to put a renewed effort into offering up one piece of random craft/art/food every day!

Store Update!

by Nettles on Monday, December 6th, 2010

I’ve just added a bunch of charms and some other nifty little bits of jewelry to the Etsy store! Stop on in if you need some cute and inexpensive Christmas presents.

What’s new with the guild? All sorts of things. I’m still working on the new photosplosion, but it should be up soon. I went to WAR’s NERO event last weekend at Ashton and had a great time. Both IceJames and I are headed to NERO Cincinnati’s Beronis again this coming weekend. We can’t wait to see all the new friends we made last time!

December Already?

by Nettles on Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

It is, it is. November kind of flew by. So much traveling and some larping and all sorts of insanity. We’ll be getting some new stuff into the store this week, hurray! And tomorrow I’ll be posting a Photosplosion of all of the larping gear that we made during the last month. Stay tuned!

Disease.

by Nettles on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

My computer has the plague or something worse. I’ve been battling with it for the past few days, so my posts will continue to be somewhat sporadic over the next few weeks. We had a fun time at NERO Indy this past weekend. IceJames and I have been working furiously to complete our costumes, armor, and weapons by the time November’s Beronis event begins. I should have some pictures of that stuff up soon. Right now it just looks like a pile of cut-up pieces.

The Perpetual Job Hunt

by Nettles on Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

Yeah, so the IceJames and I have been spending the past few days visiting relatives, friends, and trying to find jobs so we can continue to keep our internet and entertain you all. Phew, run-on sentences ftw!

Anyhow, I’ve been working on a lot of the eyeball necklaces you’ve already seen and some secret secrets that I cannot reveal yet. Stay tuned for more insanity! Also, we are going to NERO Indy’s Halloween Event this weekend, so maybe I’ll see some of you there. :D

More photosplosion!

by Nettles on Thursday, October 21st, 2010

Despite my lack of posts, I do have some pictures of what I’ve been working on. It’s been a little busy with weddings and taking my kitten to get spayed two days ago. Here are the anticipated photos, enjoy!

Polymer Doom

by Nettles on Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

I attempted to work on several accessories today. Despite actually making quite a few of the pieces for them, I accomplished making none of them. Weee! I do have several burnt orange terra-cotta colored Sculpey beads now that I’ll have to think of something to do with. You see, they were supposed to be orange, but the oven and I did not agree on that. The yellow ones turned out fine after I learned my lesson with the orange ones. =/

I did learn a new trick though. You can use polyester fiberfill (the stuff inside some stuffed animals) as a nest to put your polymer clay things in. It keeps them from getting any strange flat or shiny spots and it doesn’t melt or light on fire while you’re baking them, which is pretty cool. I’ve also been working on figuring out how to use memory wire. It’s pretty handy, but I supposedly need some special cutters for it.
